I have to admit that I'm kind of shocked at how many people like the painted flares. I don't want to incite a flame war or anything, I just always thought that the Sahara model looked a bit cheesy with the painted flares. It almost makes it less unique or something in my opinion. To each his own I guess.

I spoke to my dealer about it and they are going to order sahara flares for my rubicon and keep my black ones for parts, only gonna charge me the difference of buying a set of sahara flares vs. regular ones!

It's a bit strange that the dealer want to keep part, I thinks they already know that they will see much abuse. I like the black one better that color match one too. The look is more rugged I think

The painted flares look alright on the JKs. Not my choice, but I could see how someone would like them. On the TJs and YJs, they were reallly bad, though.

chopped fenders like Skunk Works pumpkin
the stripped down orange skunk works 2 door is best looking i've seen, they look like stock design chopped to almost flat fender look, very clean
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...hlight=pumpkin
they don't have the goofy, sad drooping look
the problem is, the chop is at the same place as the side turn/marker "ugly" hole
most likley the guys at Jeep molded these things up special.
If anybody has a connection to jeepskunkworks or jeep parts, we need to push them to produce or maybe Bushwacker will do them
on the "tube front fender/flares" to make them look right and to function and realy take a hit it looks like a real challange
maybe if they were bolt on as part of a front bumper/grill hoop system
.connected to front at bumper hoop
.connected at rear to rocker guards
