Default Wheels - Additional costs for beadlocks or no?

I am in the process of gathering all my information and determining all the parts for the next major modification to my '13 JKU. One of the avenues I am looking at would involve new wheels. I was curious to get others thoughts on sticking with a good quality "standard" wheel or spending the additional money on bead locks?

If you were not playing on the rocks on a regular basis, would you spend the extra coin on bead locks?

FYI this is my daily driver as well but looking to make it even more capable and stronger.

Texas, no snow? No rocks? No need to air down to a few psi? No, unless you have money to burn.

With beadlock wheels comes (in theory) more maintenance to ensure the bolts don't back out. If it's a DD, save the money.

For more reading fun, look at weights of beadlock wheels vs standard since us folks in the DD crowd care a little bit about our gas mileage.

I've got beadlocks on my DD and love them. Do I need them for the type of wheeling a do right now? No, but I wanted them just the same and would've regretted it if I'd purchased standard wheels.

As to the maintenance, it's minuscule. I check the bolts every 2 weeks during normal driving conditions and after every wheeling adventure. The whole process takes 5 minutes and gives me a chance to get close and personal with my Jeep.

I'm originally from So Cal and have every intention of moving back west to Colorado (or somewhere over there) when I retire from AD. So I'll probably 'need' them there... But for now they're filling a phycological need to own what I want and like.

IMHO, get what you like and ask every naysayer to lick balls.
