Why does DW go away in 4WD?
I have been having DW for the past 6-8 months. I have spent thousands on brackets, trackbars and LCAs. I've welded washers, torqued an re-torqued. I've given up.
Did an experiment today. It seemed to completely go away in 4WD.
Can anyone explain?
I have been planning on getting my 35 MTRs road forced balanced but according to everyone here that should not be the only instigating problem.
Thanks

What size are your wheels? I fought wobble for weeks and weeks with my MTRs. I have 35x12.5x15s The smaller the wheel diameter and the bigger the tire, the harder they are to balance. It took 8 times balancing my tires to get the wobble to stop. I had to argue and fight tooth and nail with two different tire shops to get one of them to balance them the way I wanted them done. They took A LOT of weight on two of them but they are perfect now. The only way they balanced is exactly how AEV said they would have to be done. Road Force Dynamic with hammer on weights inside and out. They said if you don't have a lip on your outside of you wheel to hammer the weight to, then use stick on weights on the inner edge of the rim as far to the outside as you can get them to try to simulate them being on the outer edge.
I think u should start by letting us know EXACTLY what u have done so far so people can help u diagnose this problem. I had DW a month ago and the people on this forum helped me diagnose it and fix it within a week. It has not re-occurred.
Also tell us if u did anything right before the DW started such as installed a new component. If u have been having DW for 6-8 months it is likely there are going to be multible problems now so u really need to get this fixed before u damage componets that u have recently installed costing u even more money.
U r also correct, balance issues do not cause DW, it may set it off but something else is the culprit. My tires are not balanced very good either but once I discovered the source of the DW it has not reoocured even though I never got my tires properly balanceed

I'm in Morris county. Near Morristown. Upgrades to date are as follows:
OME HD lift
JKS adjustable track bars
AEV rims and MTR 35X 12.5 R17
DW them started
JKS LCAs ( caster at about 4.6 now)
Washers welded to axle for better support although the holes never looked wallowed out to my eye.
Replaced track bar with JKS updated TB
RCV axles with evo magnums and C gussets welded on.
track bar steering box bracket
DW started some time after the wheels. Never had it with stock rubicon rims and tires. It actually started after replacing the stock damper with a high end one but that was not likely the related. My ball joints seem to be ok.
Where are you in NJ??

That is called the steering stabilizer and it is NOT causing ur problem. If everything is ok, u dont even need a stabilizer to drive ur jeep. Most will recomned that you remove it until u diagnose problem so it doesnt mask problem.
I have full on death wobble also with 35 MTR's on 17's. I had the road force balanced and it didn't stop. I have AEV high steer kit with OLD MAN EMU steering stabilizer, 4.5 AEV lift, SLC front driveshaft, and ROCK Krawler LCA's. I am taking it to Screamin Lizards Customs to take an in depth look. DW totally sucks; especially with 3 kids in the car on a tollway and having to cross 3 lanes of traffic to stop!
