Which Winch
decided on a warn 8,000 for my jk. now what is all the hype about rope vs. cable. is winch rope worth the added expense and if so where is the best place to purchase or order and what brand is most commonly used. any help or comments appreciated.

Synthetic is much lighter, stronger, safer if it breaks, won't rust, and easier to handle. It is more expensive and you have to protect it from abrasion but is superior to steel cable and a great investment
