Default Wont start

Ok, wired thing. Sometimes when I get into the jeep I try to start it and...click.

Then I take a deep breath and try again...click.

Ok, try again. Turn...start. No problem. Wtf?

Any suggestions?

Default Transmission Sensor?

I've seen some guys say that a sensor in the transmission isn't acting right.

I'm no mechanic, but when I've done what they say, push on the shift lever and try again, mine's started right up.

It's not uncommon, but that doesn't make it less unnerving.

I'd have to agree with all the other posters. It's probably the switch. Mine's done this for the past couple of years. All I do is pop it out of park and put it back and it starts right up (Knock on wood!).

Most of the time it's a bad ground. There are several ground points. Be sure to check the ground down by the transmission as it is the most common ground failure point.

If all grounds are good then you can add a ground bypass...there are a few write ups on the forum you can search for. I don't have a link at the moment to the one I wrote up.
