Default Would like a back up camera

Hi all, I'm sure this has been brought up a number of times but i need to ask again.
I recently purchased a 2017 Wrangler JKU and would like a back up camera mainly because my other two vehicles and my prior SUV had one. We are so use to having one and it seems odd not to have one in the Jeep.

I'll throw this out there, I have no experience with OBDII's but it is on my bucket list of things to learn, starting with a Ancel FX4000 which I own but...don't know a whole lot about, but, I'm a quick study (with some help). LOL

What would you guys recommend for a back up camera for this JKU that has the 6.1" NAV unit install from the factory?
Please keep in mind I am on a learning curve here and will applicate the help.

I used a combination of solutions in my 2012 to add a backup camera. There is likely an easier solution but here’s how I did it.

Inside I installed a my gig lock pick. It connects inline between the stock harness and the radio and allows you to add a bunch of handy features. One of those is adding a backup cam. I picked out an alpine camera and designed and printed a bracket to mount it in the spare. There are a few kits that do something similar I think.

That's a nice install. I 've been looking at the MyGig Lock Pick products and I see their items are geared to MyGig radios and some times make reference to MyGig facture radios. I have the facture 6.1" touch screen with Nav. Would this be a MyGig radio?

Yes, you have a MyGIG radio. There is a three letter code on the bottom right of the face of the radio (RBZ,RHR, RHB, etc) which will help you pick the right lockpick model if you decide to go that route.

My 2010 doesn't have an LCD screen, so I was looking for something wireless that came with a monitor. I found this Type-S at Costco. The cameras are in the license plate frames and are solar powered. They connect to the monitor with Bluetooth, so no wires. That means I can move them to my RV this summer.

amok, nice way to incorporate camera's, very portable. Looks like you may even be able to place the rear plate frame on a trailer for backing up a camera.

You can do it with a generic backup camera, this adapter for the head unit
https://www.amazon.com/Wrangler-Reve...625132&sr=8-17
and the jscan app to activate the camera option in the head unit.
