Summer Meet and Greet / Trail Ride
Just a note for anyone who hasn't checked yet. When I put on the lift kit, I noticed that the breather vents on the diffs didn't have any hose clamps on them. My front diff was a bit oil soaked from the vent starting to leak due to the lack of clamps. I have extended all 4 of my vents and clamped them all on. I would recomend at the very least getting 4 hose clamps and sealing up your breathers. Don't want water in the diffs... and really don't want it in the tranny or transfer case. If any one is wondering... the tranny and transfer case breathers only go up a few inches in height from the actual breather on the cases. I just bought 25' of hose and re-ran them all.
the two jeeps that were gona come with me had to bag, the one CJ is in no condition to travel out that far, so i have one FJ and my friend with the FJ has his brother coming as well in an 07 silverado crewcab 6' bed on a 4" lift.
also I will have my grill with me so if people still wanted to cook out just bring your own meat.

I have not extended my breathers at all and the last time in the winter was probably the deepest amount of water there ever was and i only got a tiny bit of water in my diffs. So this should be a non issue hopefully. But im due for a gear oil change anyways.
Ummm... so as a newbie who doesn't know much about breathers and such... is my stock Sahara going to make it across water? It's pretty late to hear about this stuff NOW...
Yes you will have no issues, you shouldnt be concerned, i only suggest that if youre jeep is making strange noises after a couple of days like rear end whinning or tranny making poor shifts that you should probably change youre fluids. When i changed my fluids after doing a tolland trip there was a tiny bit of water in the rear end and tranny but the mechanic said that it was such a small amount of water that it wouldnt of caused a problem.
Just think of this all of the people who own boats and drowned there rear end in water all summer do you think that they change there oil everytime dont think so.
Cant wait to go wheeling see you all tommrrow morning.

WEATHER UPDATE!
It's gonna rain. Perhaps not a constant rain, but it looks like showers for most of the day, with the possibility for thunderstorms.
Hot and VERY humid... in the 80's. It may be a little less, as this is the weather for the Springfield area. If you out of towners read this in time, have a safe trip up!
