Summer Meet and Greet / Trail Ride
Well tolland should be fine than, even if you have tires there are a couple spots that you can go that make it challenging mud holes and muddy climbs etc... The water crossings can not be avoided. But i will tell you everytime we went up there with my jeep and many other JK'S there was no water inside there rigs. So i hope that the water issue will not scare u off. And the water went only 2-4 inches above the rubicons rock rails there are pictures i still believe on this site search for tolland. But when would you guys want to do this???
Im down to go, im a Jeep newbie, still stock X. I know the rubicons and saharas have a bit more height than the stock X, am i gonna have any trouble with the water crossing since the air intake is only at the headlight?
Nope no problems just dont bomb threw it. Just follow what other people do what i usually do is go 5-10 mph and dont slow down so the wake doesnt come back and splash over the hood. Really not that hard of a trail but it is good for newbies to get a good feel for water crossings and some rocky spots.
And don't worry about the water crossings, if you've never done them they're a little nerve-wracking. But I never had any water get in my doors of air intake.
Over all, I think it's a great place for both stock or modded, newbies or veterans. Wish I could go, but I'm 2000 miles south now.
Ya sucks you did move, but this time im trying that mud hole that i tried with my rubicon. I didnt try it with my fj last time because i just let the other fjs do it but now i have armor lift and better tires
Im going to try it unless its like 4 feet deep like it was in the winter.
