Hello everybody!
Well, what a community!
I just bought my 2007 Steel Blue JK Sahara last summer and I have never been so in love with a vehicle in my life! This is my second Jeep, the first being a Euro-spec 1997 Cherokee that I picked up when I moved to Germany in 2006. I don't count it because of everything it had wrong with it. The Wrangler, on the other hand, makes me lost for words! There is this feeling of belonging to something with the Wrangler that no other vehicle has. What other car has a "wave" when you see it? Definitely not the Mazda3 owners... My wife's car.
A little about me then... I am in the USAF and in Germany for another year. I am kinda in the middle of nowhere as far as wheeling is concerned. The Germans have strict laws with high consequences for going out in the logging trails. Which doesn't really matter cause getting any of the good and big parts would either be extremely expensive or impossible to ship.
I do have high hopes for this guy, regardless of gas prices (you get screwed no matter what you drive), and we are crossing our fingers for our next assignment to be in Colorado!
Hope to get to know you guys and look forward to sharing my experiences. See you all later!

Welcome to the Forum! You'll like it here with all these friendly folks. Hope you make it to a great place in the States somewhere out West where the wheelin' is fantastic. You can make up for lost time.
Thanks for the welcome guys!
I am extremely anxious to get back home. Not just for the wheeling, but I've been overseas for a long time and miss my countrymen in their "nature" environment! Plus the convenience thing. If I can't get a bigger part shipped then I have to buy through the Germans at a much higher price. Luckily I am VAT exempt, so I can immediately subtract 19% from the price of most things here.

Welcome to the site Russ, and thank you for your service to our country. It is much appreciated!
Good luck on your next assignment!
You may as well just wait until you get home for those mods. Sounds like your money will go further, and more product choices will be available.

I am actually looking for one last assignment while I get my business off the ground. I incorporated in Colorado to sell Jeep parts online. Just a hobby right now for the experience. I am an entrepreneur at heart!
I am designing the website and then going through Keystone Automotive to dropship from all the brands. If it works out well I might just seek out the manufacturers straight up. We'll see.
