Smile Hello from VA!

Good morning, all!

I used to have an account here but it's been years since I last logged on. Figured it's time for a new handle, anyway.

Currently stationed in Virginia @ the newly renamed post called Ft. Barfoot (formerly Ft. Pickett). If you've been here before then you know it's a rats nest with nothing to do. Richmond is roughly a good hour drive north so that's about the extent of the bearings I can give you for reference. I'm a career Army guy who recently decided, thanks to my new shitty command, that it's time to retire. For those that have done the same you just know when it's your time. Looking forward to the months ahead.

So on to the Jeep! I bought this 2012 JKU Arctic Edition back in 2013 and have been modding it for nearly the last 10 years. BLUF, she's on tons, ARB air lockers, Method beadlocks, 42" MTR's, coilovers & hydraulic bumpstops, PSC hydro assist, RPM steering links, long arms, etc. Recently went through an engine & tranny swap, too. She's got a crate 6.4L Hemi and 8HP70 transmission in there now. Went to Wheeling for Hope 2023 @ Oak Ridge Estates last weekend in Arrington, VA. First time there and it was awesome. Met some great new folks and hoping to meet more like-minded Jeepers.

Without further ado, here she is:

That's pretty much my dream build right there. And welcome to club DD214. I'll be getting my JK out of government storage in June, hope to see you on the trails. We're relocating to Crozet, VA very soon.

Thanks, man! It's been a long road getting it this far (10 years now) but it's been enjoyable. So you're travelling from Japan, eh? Very cool. Never made it that far unless you can count being at the airport at Nirita (enroute to Singapore). I'm sure you're ready to get wheeling again. I was at an event last weekend at Oak Ridge Estates (Arrington, VA)---- that's about 45 minutes from where you're going to be at. They'll be having another event there in SEP and I plan on going to that event, too. Would be a great time to have you join in. Last event there was at least 100 jeeps there.

Welcome back to the CONUS!

Very cool. I plan to be pretty active when I get there. My JK and I have been everywhere from the Everglades, Moab, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and up through Vermont. I need to buy a new set of bead lock wheels and tires (sold my last set to be EU legal in Italy). Of course when I have to buy a new set of wheels, it's the perfect time to upgrade to 60's with 8 lugs. Trying to determine if I want to drop $20k on that with a 2015 Jeep that's just going to get older. The D44's in it right now are as built as they can be, but maybe I can sell them to offset the cost.
