Default Jeep with no a/c

Hi all, new to group. Looking at buying a 2013 Sport 47,230 miles with no A/C, Candad car I think. What am I getting myself into? I tried looking for kits on Jeepair and they only list up to 2006, I believe....They were asking $20,990 but have lowered it to $19,990 and are giving it to me $19,000 with tax, title/reg and dealers fees included... Thanks! ALL input and criticism welcomed....I can close deal tomorrow. Did I mention I live in SoFlo?

I guess it depends on if you can deal with heat/humidity. My wife was raised in Tuscon. Her jeep doesn't have AC and she's good with it.

FWIW, your $4300 under what we just paid for a 2016 JK sport with no AC.

I had a convertible without A/C when I was in Tallahassee (Go Noles!) and during the early spring and late fall it wasn't bad but I won't make that mistake again. Some days were way too hot for taking the top down and with the temp and humidity, well..... Plus a lot of days I would have my windows fog up and without A/C I couldn't keep them clear.

It's all personal preference but even in the super dry air Mojave I wouldn't be without my man-made winter maker.

I had a TJ in South Florida with no AC but I had another vehicle with comforts. Me myself I don't mind not having AC until it is time to drive to work.. I don't like sweating like a pig on the way to work. If I were you I would rather have and not need than need and not have. Find you one with AC.

I guess a more precise question is what are my options as far as aftermarket A/C is concerned. I can't seem to find a kit for this year/model...

This JK breaks down to $16,610 + Tax, Title and dealer fee out the door for $19,000. You saying you paid $23,300 t,t and dealer fee included for a 2016? This one is raise and has the 33" tires...

$23,359 to be exact, but that didn't include the sales tax/title (which was $1301). 2016 with half doors, 6-speed, no A/C.

SWFL here. I just traded my 04 TJ (for a 12JK) and while I had AC it only worked on the highest setting (got rained in so many times I suspect a short or the fan speed switch corroded on low and medium speeds).

I also ran full time with no sides or rear, soft top (hence the rain issues).

I like the heat so I could do it no worries but I will say the new one sure is nice to have cold air.

I'm sure you thought of this but in addition to parts cost don't forget labor if you need it. I myself would have zero chance of installing AC.

Or get a good 12V powered mini fridge and keep plenty of cold beer on hand at all times (for after driving of course, never during!)

Good luck.

So there's no option other than going through the dealer to install the AC if I go this route??

Interesting. I honestly didn't even know they made a JK without AC.
