New Jeep guy
Lost my Jeep virginity about 3 weeks ago.
Proud owner of a 2011 flame red JKU Sahara.
Everything stock. No mods
Will go with some wheels and tires when the current tires need replaced.
Didn't do a lot of research on the 3.8 engine before I bought ... Sounds like a real manraiance hog.
I have decent records since it was new and it's been serviced fairly well. Not as well as I would have, but better than most I'd say.
62,000 miles on her. I've put 1300 on it with no issues. 600 of those miles was pulling a popup camper that was about 2,000 pounds fully loaded, plus 800 pounds of people (the whole family).
Looking to gather good info and tips on small easy mods, as well as get info on good service tips to keep it running great.
Since I purchased it, and before our camping trip, I did the following:
Oil / filter (Mobil one)
Front brakes
Front diff
Rear diff
Transfer case
Transmission fluid and filter (also put on an aftermarket pan that has a drain plug to make it easier next time!)
Cleaned throttle body
Dropped in a k&n filter
Changed spark plugs
Only other thing I'm thinking about doing is changing coolant (although it looks really good)
Oh I'd also like to bleed brake fluid and have clean fluid replacing it, but I need to do some YouTube searching... Never done that before.
I live in Virginia Beach and love driving with the soft top down... But that hard top sure does take a lot of room up in my garage! I wish a ceiling hoist was an option but the way my garage is built its not.
Glad to be a part of the group!

Welcome. I to just lost my jeep virginity.
As for the hard top I store mine in the back yard with a floor made of pallets . soft top summer.( top up, top down, windows in, windows out with top up, doors on, doors off ) .
Have fun and use it for what it is. " A JEEP " It will do things that you think it can't do and may not want to do but but it will solider on. Also it a 4 wheel " harley " when is the last time you seen a stock one ?
Have fun

Welcome! Curious if any of you guys have added a K&N Full Air intake to your jeep jks? I added one and I have noticed a sharper throttle response and better mpg not by much. I average highway 18 mpg at about 75-80 mph. wonder if anyone else has done mods to their airintakes or throttle bodies to increase mpg and power.
