Default From WK to JK

Hi. I'm in the process of trading my WK SRT8 in towards a JK. I've been browsing here for a while, lots of good info, but I have ?'s still. I'm looking forward to the change from the SRT8(except the hp loss ).

I had a 4.7L WJ before the 6.1L WK, both were/are great. I miss the "no worries" feel of a regular 4wd, unlike the SRT8 that has little tire sidewall & a low front facia. I'm hoping someday Chrysler shoehorns a V8 into the Wrangler.

I've driven the new v-6 in the 2011 Grand Cherokees and i'd have to say that it was really close to the performance of the 4.7 v8 (obviously the torque band is better in the v8) but if your looking to buy a 2012, you'd probably be... nah, you still won't be pleased, stepping down from an SRT8, there's no comparability but the 3.6 is still way better than the 3.8.

yeah i'm surprised that they don't at least offer the 4.7l for the jku's seems like a no brainer seeing how many people out there are putting superchargers or hemi's in these jeeps. by the time you put a lift and 35-37-40 inch tires on the jk it has no power left and then you gotta regear your axles just to maintain 75 on the freeway.
