Tried doing the Ball Joint replacement :sad2:
Tried replacing the Ball Joints myself this past weekend. What a bust, swinging a hammer against the axle forever and just wouldn't drop. Thinking of taking it to a shop in Concord to do the work, asking $500 for the labor. Anyone knows of any shop in the East Bay that would do it (right) for less? Feedback appreciated.

That would have been the next step. Problem was getting the knuckle off the joints so I can press them out.:( Bought the tools, thinking I could do it myself. What a waste of time and money, should have tried to find a mechanic to do it for me in the first place.

If you remove your tie rod end you can rotate the knuckle enough to get more room to hit it with the hammer. If it still doesn't budge try putting some upward or downward pressure on the knuckle while hitting it.
