Sunday 1/24/16

anyone up for a snow run up near the Eagle Lakes area? My plan is to try to run the Pierce OHV loop. I went up to the Fordyce staging area and there are quite a few tracks already, but there is a lot of wet heavy snow.

I will say that a winch is a must (you will use it) and lockers preferred. 35's+ recommended. tow points front and back and appropriate recovery gear such as straps and shackles. bring warm clothes and shovels just in case.

Planning on being at the trailhead by 10:30.

I'll be at the Arco on Sierra College off I80 at 9am, and head out at 915 for those coming through Sacramento. Address:4442 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin, CA.

Nice. Snow looks so much easier on 42's. I remember Rich and I were on the first part of the Fordyce in the snow last year. We were doing ok, but some guys in built Cj's on 42"+ tires just bounced over everything like it was nothing.

Jason. Looking to make it another 17 hour trail trip. Put me down as a strong maybe. Lori has her treatment this week and it will depend on how she does.

Lol, I hope not. We're sticking to the lower elevation part of the area. Hope you can make it out.

Require a recovery strap as well.

What's the meeting time/location? I have to take my wife to the airport first, but could drive up after since I'm free all day.

I was thinking of meeting at the Fordyce/Eagle Lakes/Signal Peak staging area at 10:30. I'll probably set a meeting point in Rocklin too for anyone who wants to caravan up.

Hi Jason, I would like to join this run. Consider me as solid maybe for now. How far is trailhead from SJ?

spinuck 01-19-2016 08:23 PM

Its about 3 hours. It's off I-80 and Eagle Lakes road.
