Winter camping in Washington?
I believe the pay and park campsites at middlefork are closed for winter but there are a few small riverside spots open.
Not great, they're either 10 feet from the road or hike in so far you can't see you rig but I see people camping there.
WSP and FS have driven by us at Beaver creek but they don't even stop, just nod or wave and carry on.
Pack of Jeeps snowcamping are not the criminal element they're looking for.
People poaching elk, cooking meth and dumping appliances or stolen cars are top on thier list.
It's sad our 4x4 trails and campsites have become hot spots for this type of activity.
Thats exactly what led to closure of all the spur roads up on the North Fork river road. Meth labs and dumped stolen cars.
