On the Colorado side, the Ranger said we could not get into the Utah side. We went on thru the Utah side and found an OffRoad trail that went up a mountain and ended up connecting to a road onto the Colorado side. I treated my wife's Expedition EL like my Jeep lol! The view was amazing. Interestingly, this route would be a back door into the Monument without paying or checkin in. Maybe
