Well, I said screw it and installed it yesterday.

I too followed the directions to a "T" ( I do know what I am doing, a monkey could install this thing correctly I mean come on) As soon as I had the rear axle on the ground I reached up and ran my finger around the back edge of the spacers and there is a bulge running approx 1/2 way around the back of the spacer, 1/2" deep from the bottom lip up, where it appears that the spring is pushing rearward and the spacer material is giving. I instantly envisioned seeing whats in your pics, under my Jeep.

I certainly do not have a warm nor fuzzy feeling about this. Not one bit at all. Hey, were your front bumpstops rubber too?

My Factory ones are rubber, the FT bumpstops I had were aluminum. I have since given them away. So, how's it doing? Have your rear springs stayed in place?

I meant the FT bumpstops. My factory ones are rubber yes. I meant the "advertised" aluminum (they were in the pic) ones that came with the kit. Mine were rubber.

Guess you never heard back from FT then huh?

Rear springs have stayed put so far. though I haven't been off road with it since the install (except for a big pile of dirt I screwed around on once in the back 40 last weekend)

but there is still a noticable bulge (about 3/8" or better) on the back of each spacer right where yours slipped out. Been that way pretty much since day one.

I just went out and checked em again and the passenger side is bulging a bit more than the other now so....

IMO, this BB is at best, a poor design... I'll be nice and say no more than that.

I will be replacing the rear coils as soon as I can scrape up the funds.

I've had my FT BB on since Jan of 07 along with the MForce shocks. I wheel/camp often and hard (not like the west coast hard) but usually
dont shy away from much. I've never had a problem with springs slipping
or making any strange noises. My kit came with the track bar relocation bracket
which ended up tearing of my factory bracket about 10 miles from anywhere. I got it welded back together the next day and ordered a FT adj trackbar.

I would use their product again if I decide to go to 35s.

I'm not saying FT doesn't make a good product and I am certainly not slamming them. I hear of many people on this site running their other lifts with great success and in the past I had considered going with a spring lift from FT down the road. That said, the lack of customer service redneckjeep has experienced is pushing me away from that particular manufacturer. I mean no response at all? WTF is that?

Anyhow, IMO the issue here is the material used in the spacers. If some type of hard resin or composite material had been used, the springs would be MUCh less likely to slip.

I would like to see a redesigned rear spacer in conjunction with a partial product recall in which all current owners of this lift (at least those with this problem) were sent replacement rear spacers. THAT would bring me back to FT.

I looked at the pics again and it doesn't look like the factory isolators are installed with the FT spacers. I could be looking at it wrong.

On my install I left the factory rubber isolators between the spring and FT spacer.

Look in the second pic. It looks like the factory isolator slipped out with the spring.

I installed mine per instructions with the factory isolator between the spring and the spacer.

edit: to add to that, it would seem to me that if you left out the factory isolator in the rear this might not be such an issue since the top of the spring would sit that much deeper into the spacer. Of course I have no idea what the top of the spring might do to the FT spacer.... might screw it up

Mine was probably one of the first, maybe they've changed materials since then.

Good luck with yours

I ran my FT BB for about 12,000 miles with several wheeling trips in there before I went to a full spring lift. I never had a problem with the springs coming unseated. It is tough to tell from the pics, I can't quite tell what is going on. Sorry I can't provide an answer for you.

Actually, I got a call today from Steve at Full Traction. We talked with one of his salesmen on a three way call. Seems they had some trouble with a small amount of spacers that were not made to spec as far as material hardness, is what I gathered. Steve made absolutely no excuses for me "slipping through the cracks"....his own words..... and took full responsibility, apologizing many times. He said he wants to make it right.......even though I have since gone with the Teraflex 2.5" coil kit. He said they want the rear spacers back, and they are going to send me something in return to make it right. I tried to let him know that I really didn't want "something for nothing" especially since I was not using the spacer lift any longer. He was all too insistant though, and so we'll see. Sounds to me like simple human error. Could happen to anybody. I will keep yall posted.
