I somewhat agree that a changable option would be nice. I would like to have the ability to read the posts easier. I like the dark background but a thicker and/or brighter default text would be easier for me to read. Many of the color-texts I have to highlight to read. I'm sure I'm not the only partially colorblind person on the board.

I'm not sure how it would work out for you, but in Firefox you can choose "page style" from the "view" dropdown menu and select "no style". This will ignore the forum formatting, including the colors. I do this sometimes when I'm at work and I don't want people to know I'm on the forum (they see the black background and immediately know what I'm doing....).

One other option, if you are not posting and only reading, is to use the forum archive to read through the threads. It's the "archive" link at the bottom of each page. Just make sure to click the little "PDA" link at the top right corner of the archive to display the threads from newest to oldest instead of the other way around. This option works well for mobile web users, too.

In any case, I really like the way the forum looks and I'd be bummed to see it changed. If Eddie were to implement anything to help this issue, I'd vote for the ability for users to change their own skins or color scheme from the default (which would be the current scheme).

Wow, This is a lot easier on the one eye.

BTW, for anyone who really has a problem reading this or any other site due to color schemes, I highly recommend installing the Greasemonkey extension for Firefox and then the Page Recolorization user script. Everything is free and it will make all of your web pages easy to read black text on white background without messing with the format of the page. You can also choose which sites it changes and it will leave the rest alone, or you can turn it off completely.

Feel free to PM me if you need help with that!

I personally like it the way it is. I work with dark screens and light words/images all day long. I find it minimizes eye strain for myself.
In the past i was forced to work on white screens with dark words and the eye strain, glare, and ensuing headaches where nearly unbearable. I am glad the forum is the color scheme it is. If it was changed, i would follow Doojers advice above and switch it back for my use. Hopefully his option will help you out.

I didn't like it at first, but it's been growing on me. In saying that, I'd prefer dark text on light background.

I agree. I kind of like it for that very reason, since I work on a computer most of the day. Of course when I'm on this site, I'm not exactly working...don't tell the boss!

I like the colors scheme for the most part. Just wish the colors were more friendly, i.e. web pallete. But I like the colors..and definitely light text on dark. The other way around would look stupid.
