Lift Install Party - Who'd like to join?
well.......looks like I will miss this one
on the way home from work today my work truck decided to fry the alternator and take the batteries along with it or at least 2 of the batteries as far as i could tell. I had to get it off the highway and away from traffic (rush hour) because when the alt. locked up it threw the belt and would overheat quickly and that would be the end of the diesel motor. so i jumped off at the first exit ramp and got it shut down. After a few phone calls a wrecker pulled up about 1-1/2 later and towed me to the dealer service shop allllllllllllll the way to southwest Tulsa and the shop manager said it should be done on Sunday around 12-3. I just got home and still frustrated but luckily tulsa freightliner service shop runs 3 shifts 7 days a week. sorry guys i really wanted to be there to lend a hand and get those lifts on and meet a few that i haven't already

gunna have to miss this one. Promised the wife a date and can't back out of it. I probably should stick close to work anyway as i've had a server giving me trouble. For some reason my RAID array keeps failing drives in RAID 5. Its a real pain in the ass.
Enjoy the weather and have fun with the wifey, catch ya next time.
. By the way, didn't realize you were an IT guy too
On a different note, got a tiddly widdly bit of bad news. The overnighted package from Northridge4x4 showed up today with the Teraflex coil guide/spacer - but... only rear. Guess, somewhere along the line when I was ordering it, the front one got missed
. So now, I have rear 1/2" coil guide/spacer and nothing for the front - and spent $50 overnight express it to boot.
Guess I'll be installing the lift without the spacer - hate to have any more of a rake on the JK with rear spacer and nothing up front. Will have to check with Sean to see if he has some 1/2" front spacers and if so, have them install this Wednesday

I'm not so much IT. Before i got the surveillance manager job i was the surveillance technician. I went in completely green but i'm pretty computer savvy. When i started though it was simply a box solution with windows computers just loaded with hard drives lol. It was pretty choppy and shitty on playback but recorded smooth.
Now we have a complete system by honeywell, all windows based with their own "alpha" engine. It is really an impressive system but these hard drives going bad are starting to get on my nerves. We keep the "DVR" room nice and chilly and it's a clean air environment. Only thing i can think of causing all of these hard drive failures would be the constant rattle from us being upstairs. You can feel it be a little wobbly up there, mix in constant ft. sill bombbardment and i'm sure those hard drives shake like crazy. I think its more of a hard drive seating into the bay issue than an actual failure.
I keep a failover up and running that takes over as soon as a raid fails so we get continuous recording, but we do lose all the data when we rebuild the failed raid. As long as it doesnt happen to our digital archive i'm happy though lol. Though most of that is backed up with DVD's.
