Default Red 2 door w/ black rims

I am considering black rims for my red Rubi (17s). Does anyone have pictures? What are some good black wheels? Do these wheels have clear coat so that I can use all year? What are the drawbacks of painted wheels?

Someone said the chrome on aluminum wheels won't rust. I don't know, not sure if can picture chrome wheels on the JK? Any opinions? Thanks.

Check out the show and tell section. THere's a thread devoted to black rims.

Cragar soft 8's are very popular for their price

Procomps of various styles are next in line.

Check out the for sale section. One of the moderators has a set of black Procomps for sale right now at a real good price. I think it's doojer.

I like my ProComp 8179's but they are 15". These are powder-coated not just painted. (Very durable)

Thanks for the input. The 8179s do look good. I just spent the last hour look at the black wheels listed in the show and tell forum. Quite a collection! Does a black wheel look better on a red JK or is polished the way to go?

Your Jeep should be as much an individual as you. Go with what YOU like best. Asking a qustion like that will get you 50 different responses.

It's all about taste. What do you like. I would have never expected a black rim to look good. After seeing those pictures though, I'm convinced anything other than black or gunmetal is wrong!

But that's just me...

That is correct. Chrome on Aluminum wont rust... instead it will flake off.

American Racing Mojave with TeflonŽ (Series 3981)

American Racing Chamber with TeflonŽ (Series 3985)

I am thinking about either for my white JK, but I think they would look great on a red rig too...........

Does anyone have either of these two American Racing wheels that are teflon coated? What have you heard about teflon coated wheels? Thanks.
