The only wire I need to locate on the 2015 system is the fused B(+). In the road right now with work, but I'll be using these harness schematics to splice my 2007 C307 into the C2 on the seat when I get home. I'll update with the results. Hopefully I don't set off my airbags! Lol

So apparently the A27 fused B(+) circuit is dedicated to the TPMS system in newer Jks and is eliminated on the seat restraint system. The newer models have two power sources for seats coming from the TIPM module. Both are fused. One is powered when the ignition is set to RUN, the other set to RUN/START. The original A27 circuit on the 2007 seat module is fused with a 10amp fuse. The newer power lead is also a 10A fuse. I'll update following success and I'll post the schematic with instructions if anyone is interested in putting newer seats into their older JK. If I somehow blow my airbags, I'll post a single 4-letter expletive.

Well. The seats are in, but it was a serious pain. I had to remove the seats from their respective frames and swap them. The 2007 restraint system is totally different from the 2015. In short.... The seats bolt in ok, but the CANBUS system will have a shit fit as none of the harnesses connect. You have to swap the seats on to the year specific frame. This involves cutting hog ties and replacing them on the new frame. It's pretty much the same as replacing your worn seat upholstery with new Katskin leathers. It's simply not worth swapping in newer model seats into older model JKs.

I'm having the same issue...I have a 2008 JK that someone gave me a new set of seats out of a 2018...everything seemed to bolt up perfect except for the wiring harness! I thought it would be an easy task to just cut off the original wiring harnesses from the old seats and just solder onto the new seats and go...Do you happen to have the wiring schematic for the 2008?

Did you just do the frame swap on the passenger seat?

Welcome to my world ...

I pulled out the seats of my 2016 JK 75 Anniversary Ed. (just a dressed up Sahara) and replaced them with Mastercraft Bajas - what a nightmare !

I went through the endless threads of people saying they used resisters to 'fool' the CANBus system into thinking the stock seats were still there - what a crock !

You CAN use a resistor on the each side of the truck to get rid of the seat belt light / chime - but the airbag light is a completely different animal unto itself. The problem is that the CANBus system 'talks' to the occupancy and seat position sensor located in the passenger seat (just occupancy sensor in the driver's seat I believe) - and if it does not 'hear' back what it wants to - the light and chime go on.

I had been fighting this issue for the last 20 or so months, and recently (about 2-3 months ago) I finally gave up and decided to find out what components the CANBus system was looking for and install them into my Mastercraft seats.

Nightmare #2 - nobody - including the parts dept. at my local dealership, has any definitive answer on exactly what is in the seat or how it is wired !!

Sure, they have some crappy (what looks like hand drawn) diagrams of the seats - but nothing that and shows you how things are wired or where they are situated in the seat.

At the present time I have my name & number out at a few local wrecking yards so as to get a phone call if / when a JK comes into their lot - so as I can rip out the passenger seat just to deconstruct it to see whats-what.

Once I figure things out, I will post my solution with pics ...

Neville

Wow this is crazy. I am so disappointed that Jeep doesn't have a solution for this. If someone could make a connector that works, or figure out the CANBus system, I'd pay serious money. I'm sick about this as we just spent a good chunk of change to get some used seats from a later model JK for the 2008. The original seat frames are broken and barely usable, but to get thru inspection, looks like I'll be swapping seats for a day - every F'ing year!! @Creepy Neville did you ever figure out a solution?!

Heya Rob -

Actually, I literally JUST solved the problem !!

I have a couple components being made for me as we speak (Monday, Sept. 28th) - give me a week or two and I will post a detailed work-a-round of my solution of replacing my 2016 factory seats with Mastercraft Baja RS’s and Crow 5 Point Harnesses.

Oh man that would be great! Pulling the seats out tomorrow and throwing the old ones back in to pass inspection. It's not too bad of a job, but since my niece will be driving the jeep soon, I'd rather fix it right for her. Thank you in advance!!!
