Default CT Dealers

Anybody in central or eastern Connecticut know a good dealer for warranty service? I get down to New London, Norwich, Mystic area on business fairly often. I am not impressed with my local dealer(s) here in NH. Any input would be appreciated.

Hey skibum -

I haven't dealt with them yet for warranty work, so I can't recommend Crowley (Bristol), but I'd pretty much steer you anywhere else based on my buying experience.

I'm going to link to this thread in the CT Checking In thread, and hope that some of the other CT guys can help you out...

I also have not had any warranty work done yet, at my dealer. I did however, bought my jeep there, and had a remote starter installed there. I assume that you (skibum) travel I-91 South to I-84 East Across the Ct. River to Route 2 East. If so this dealer would be on the way. They are located In East Hartford, By the way, what problems are you having? Oh thanks 888 for the link!

I haven't really delt very much with the service dept. of the dealership I bought my Jeep.
I only had to have some work done once....simple stuff.
I can honestly say that I haven't been treated badly by the service dept.
Although I did have some kinda screwy experiences with some of the sales staff.
Dealing with a dealership has been a huge learning experience for me.

Bolles Motors on RT83 in Ellington CT 860-875-2595 is where I got mine.
A friend of mine told me that Bolles is the only dealership that his dad will buy a car from or actually do any buisness with at all. When I found out this info it made me feel much better about dealing with them, because his dad is a old hot rodder from the 50's and 60's and also a autobody repair man and I totally trust his judgement.

I went to papa's dodge, one of the worst experiences of my life but they had the one I wanted exactly how I wanted and wouldn't trade it to executive jeep in wallingford. The service guys are great and are or were jeep guys at one point in thier lives so they want to help as much as possible.

I've had them do 2 oil changes (it's f*cking cold out and I am not climbing under there) and they also took care of me with my shifter (non-recall) issue which with out an appointment I got my jeep back within 4 hours and I had a sweet hemi pick up as a rental. No charge or even a thought about charging for the work and they gave me a free oil change due to the lack of 24-7 towing that jeep has.

Thanks for the input. My current problems include "stall bug", twice in under 2000 miles, auto trans/torque converter that can't decide what gear it wants to be in, scratched up interior even though i treat it like its a f@#$%ng Ferrari, a hood that trys to depart company with the vehicle every time the wind blows and various missing parts (missing as in they ran out of things that were suppossed to be there and just shipped the Jeep anyway). Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS THING, otherwise I would have driven thru the dealer's front window weeks ago. I'm just VERY dissappointed in the dealer's response and DC's complete and utter lack of customer service. I hope Kerkorian buys Chrysler just so that he can "rescue" the Jeep brand kinda like what happened with Harley and AMF.

Thanx all for the input. Gonna try a CT dealer next time down. They can't possibly do any worse than the local guys.

I think I read somewhere that you guys are planning a get together for sometime this spring. If you don't mind a former CT resident (Groton and Norwich) tagging along, let me know when and where. NH has actually criminalized wheeling unless you are on private property and have WRITTEN permission from the owner. No more class six roads, power line roads, forrest service trails, etc. Live Free or Die!

ct. is the same way. The dep hasn't even returned my calls about a few places I have found in state parks. (knowing my luck there will be boulder in front of them now) As for a meet there are plenty of places, parks for cookouts, with a resturant as a rain back up is the best bet and I have always done when it comes to car meets, the problem we are having is finding some where to have a little trail ride.

Actually I have to disagree with this statement. There are plenty of Class VI roads left. Your best bet is to become part of a group who knows where/when/how they can be wheeled. I live in Weare, NH and know of at least 6-8 of them around in my local vicinity.

I dunno if this is kosher or not, but it's a Jeep organization that is VERY in tuned with legal wheeling and land preservation. forum.newjo.org
