Hemi Swap Getrag 238 mounting bracket
So this is my second engine swap in my 2008 JKU. The first one was the infamous Pentastar 3.6 swap into the 2008 JKU (posted elsewhere here). Long story short, I had issues... possibly due to my swap, possibly not, but I had built up some parts over time to do the hemi swap, so I decided it was time. I will do that whole swap in a different post.
I am putting a 392 into my JKU with a manual transmission (getrag 238 out of a dakota). I have been using mainly Dakota Customs parts, but I didnt buy the kit because my JKU is a complete Franken-Jeep right now, and I had a bunch of the other stuff I needed already.
My big question: What is the correct part number for the tranmission mount? JSS and AEV have mounting plates that look like they will fit on the bottom of the getrag, but I dont think those work with the DC engine mounts. It almost looks like a Dodge Dakota Getrag 238 transmission mount will fit.. but I cant find that part number anywhere (I have found similar.. but none that fit). Any help would be appreciated. Turns out there are not a lot of posts of hemi swaps with a 6-speed.

Yep, I got it all worked out. 6.4L hemi swap with a getrag 238 into a JKU wrangler. Works great. I ended up with an eclictic mix of parts from different providers. Air box from AEV, Battery box from JSS, computer and harness from hotwire auto, and everything else (mounts, exhaust, steering bracket, etc..) from Dakota Customs. Other parts that would have come with kits, I figured it out and sourced it myself. Dakota Customs and hotwire auto were very supportive in my adventure of figuring this all out. Part number for the transmission mount is 55366619AE.
I thought about doing a write up.. maybe if anyone is interested.

I'm interested! I'm in the part gathering/engine building stage of my swap right now....a 2008 5.7 and the 238 into a '11 JKU. I will be doing a build thread on mine, but don't have any exciting pics yet as i'm rebuilding the hemi from a dropped valve seat wrecked motor. If you do get a chance to write your thoughts down, I'm sure it'll be appreciated!

I have been meaning to do a thread on the build. It was very successful, but there was a lot of stuff that I had to figure out on my own. I will try and get a thread going in a few days and let you know. If you dont have the getrag 238, I would start looking. They are hard to find (without getting ripped off). Honestly, its the best driving 4x4 transmission I have ever used. I am not sure why people would put the auto's in there. I drive in heavy traffic, and highway, on road and crawl around. I havent found any downsides to the getrag other than finding one. I ended up getting one remanufactured. People selling new ones wanted $8k (dont forget to add core into their price).

I have been planning and scrounging parts for the better part of two years now and when I heard about the "hard to get getrag", I made it a priority to find one. Fortune must be smiling on my venture because I found one local and used for a very small amount of money early on in my sourcing. I got very lucky! It's been sitting in my workshop ever since, hanging out.
I have just now got my block, crank and heads back from my machine shop and I am slowly reassembling the engine, taking my time and learning along the way. I have been taking pics and as soon as I have enough interesting pics I'll start a build/swap thread of my own, from the perspective of a shadetree mechanic doing it on the super cheap (like I'm aiming under $5000 cad, running and driving, I know, I know, let's see lol). I have all of the major components so far, just need a clutch assembly (not sure which one to use yet, leaning toward a '08 2500 5.7 clutch assembly).
Thanks for your time, every bit of knowledge we can add to the group, the better off we are.

Ok perfect. I just picked up the '08 2500/hemi flywheel (part # 53022042AA) for a song and I'll keep my eyes open for a cheap clutch. I was wondering if you remember the details about the clutch cylinders, slave and master. Did you re-use the JK set up or did you order a 2500 set or a Dakota set?
Thanks for your time!

You will want to reuse the JK factory master and slave cylinder. I bought a dakota and ram slave cylinder just to see if they seemed better, and they were definitely not compatible. A couple of tricks to the getrag 238 are the cross member, the clutch/flywheel combo, the starter motor, and finding the lower shield that works around the oil pan. Also, there is one bolt from the engine to that transmission that is in english units not metric. To make it worse, they are no longer made by mopar, so you have to source it elsewhere. Its very, very odd.
I havent had much time to write on this, I will try to capture all this stuff in detail in my post when I get around to it.

Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it. That'll save me a few coins knowing that!
Just for reference for anyone else reading, the aluminum structural dust cover between the engine oil pan area and the g238 is part number 53021584AA (or so my research and first hand testimony from others who have done the swap say). The thin metal dust sheild that covers the open bottom of the tranny once mounted is 52107753AC.
