3.8 timing problems ,
My 2008 jk has a fresh motor 15 k , running headers dual cats to single 2.5 high flow muffler. Bench flowed intake and throttle body . High voltage coils and 8 mm wires.
I got a leak at each header manifold. This is an off road rig with egr deleted .by crushing the transfer pipe.
I running a trail dash 3 . Timing is severely retarded! Very seldom above 25 degrees with the 91 octane tune. 17 degrees with the supper chips tune . What cause me concern is it will show advance at 30 degrees with actual advance of only 20. There is often a 10 degree difference between spark advance and actual advance . What would cause this? I installed a crank and cam sensor about 10 k ago.
