Default Can i fit this tire on my rear stock tire carrier?

My Toyo 295-70-r17 (= roughly 33.25 with these) will this fit OK on my stock rear tire carrier size wise? Curious whats the biggest oversized tire people have fit on a stock rear tire carrier on the JK that fit without blocking the stop tail lamp and hitting the rear bumper...? Thanks

I think it would have to do more with a total weight on the swing out tail gate then hitting the bumper or blocking the tail lamp. Id love an answer to this question too cause my lift should be here in the next week and i have to buy tires. If i cant fit the 5th one on the stock im gonna have to wait till i get more money for a new rear bumper/tire carrier.

On another forum that I'm a member of there's a guy with 315/70 R17 BFG AT's and they fit just right on the stock carrier. If I knew how to put a working link in here I'd do it. He's got pictures showing how snug it is. The jeep looks great with these tires.

this is an old thread that i am bumbing to the top. i had an 08 sahara and ran 305x70x17 Goodyear MTS.s They fit fine with the stock bumper. I traded for a new Rubi and went with BFG 35's this time...NO FIT! Does anyone recommend a good rear bumper with tire carrier that is more stock looking? I dont want a stubby. I want something that wraps around like the stock one. any suggestions?

35's will fit but in your case it's probably the offset of your rims that are preventing it. My 35's fit great with my procomp rims.

As far as a rear tire carrier. LOD is coming out with a nice rear bumper/tire carrier. Should be out by the end of this month. I'm definitely ordering it after receiving their front shorty. The quality is great.

Here's the link (and you don't have to get the gas tank holders or over tire basket):

Hmmm.... We'll be intro-ing ours shortly. It wraps around the majority of the way. We cut it slightly short to allow 37"/40" tires to clear without hitting the rear bumper...

Here is a prototype rear that was made back in October:

but if you wan't to save some coin there are plenty of brackets on the market that allow you to lift your tire up to clear the bumper...

This is the one we have:

In most cases this does require removing the stock breaklight tower. Nothing a saws-all wont take care of.....
