I just replaced my stock rear pads at 15k, I have talked to others that have worn out rear pads as early as 11k, I used Qualtran brakes, we stock them at work they are long lasting and usually noise free, much better than napa, autozone or pep boys crap.

Go with Hawk brake pads easy to do and last a long time. Not much dust either. I put them on my F250 also and have worked great there two. Very easy to do.

Go with Hawk HPS (HB569.650) for the JK. These are great performance pads which will help if you have bumpers, skid plates, bigger tires, etc. If you just want a stock-like pad, the Akebonos are not bad.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Hawk pads I would give them a shot.

If you're pretty happy with the way your Jeep stops now and want some additional wear from brake pads the Hawks or EBC Green stuff would be a great replacement pad. If you have an extra heavy rig, and want more braking strength, EBC Yellow stuff.

For the guys that are promoting the Hawks, which ones, the HPS, LTS or Performance Ceramics? I wouldn't mind a little more stopping power, but I specifically want LESS SQUEALING. I hate brake squeal.....

Bring on the brake squeal if it helps me stop faster and not squish Bambi or the idiot that made the left hand turn in front of me. If you don't want brakes that make some noise, stay away from the EBC yellow stuff.

Go with teh Hawk HPS, as long as you grease the back of the pad you should not have any squeal. FYI the brake pads come with the grease.
