Default Where to have aftermarket wheels rotated.

Got Procomp Black alloys on my JK and need to have the tires rotated. Any suggestions on where to have this done so my wheels don't get scratched to hell? I'm in the western suburbs of chicago. Tried a couple of chains and they would not guarantee that they wouldn't get scratched up.

HELP!

Ditto. For the amount of money they'll charge you to rotate, you can cop a decent jack and jack stands from Sears on sale. Get a four-way and you'll be off to the races...

if you can change a flat tire you can do a rotation.

You wouldn't even need jack stands, only the stock jack. And if you do a 5-tire rotation, just go from one tire to the next. I go spare->LR->LF->RR->RF->spare. Probably wouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

Thought about the DIY approach. Any special sockets needed? I'm finding all kinds of thin walled sockets, soft sockets, etc. Any tricks from those of you that have done it?

You just need the stock lug wrench that's in the back with the stock jack.

Stock lug wrench won't work with my rims. The tire is too wide for me to get the end over the lug.

I use a 19MM socket, a short extension, and a 1/2"drive breaker bar to remove them. Then a torque wrench to put them back on (90lb/ft?).

Whatever gets the lug nut off and back on should be fine. I use a socket wrench and a deep socket. My stock lug wrench bent the first time I used it to loosen the lugs.

I would torque the the lugs to 95-100 ft-lbs.

ok, i guess one more wrinkle that occured to me. I have a 2.5 inch lift and 35 inch tires. Forgive my mechanical incompetence, but if the frame is sitting 17 inches off the ground, what kind of jack could i use to get it high enough to free the tires enough to pull? The highest floor jack i've seen only lifts about 19 inches. Doesn't seem like that would cut it.
