Default hydrolock - need new motor - recommendations?

Chrysler said there isn't a crate motor for the JK's and they'll need to buy a short block and transfer parts over. worried about a dealership 'building' a motor and thinking this may be a good time to upgrade.

has anyone installed a motor, hemi or otherwise and how many other mod's (computer?) need to be made, and how did this affect your warranty?

My dealer built mine from the short block up and it's fine. Call one of the companies that does the HEMI conversions. They can set you up on the cheap for another stock engine. Unless you just want to upgrade.

Look up Burnsville Offroad. They have numerous motors from Hemi conversions and are located backeast.

Their website says Minnesota.

I'd say put a post in the wanted session and troll the Extreme forum for guys that have completed hemi swaps in your area.

Good luck.

I am guessing you are footing the bill too......sounds like a perfect time to upgrade......to keep costs down, look for any Hemi from late model wrecked 300C, Charger, GC, or more difficult to find, but any srt8....get the conversion kit and go V8..........good luck, keep us posted.
