Default Need advice on tire size vs. lift height

alright, ive been goin nuts tryin to figure out what lift i should get for my 08 2dr. i got 285 bighorns on the stocker 17s. the tires are gonna be on there awhile. when they wear out, ill get 33x12.50. I wont go any bigger than that. ive been lookin at teraflex 2.5 BB and spring lift and Rustys 2 & 3.25 spring lifts. what do you guys think would look and perform better? i dont want my shoes lookin like donuts...if you guys got pics you can post thatd be great! thanks inadvance fer the help!

What are your plans for use?
If you are mostly a daily driver, a 2" lift is plenty for 33's.
If you want to go off road a lot, you may want the little bit more lift to flex your suspension without rubbing.

I love rusty's 3.25 inch springs. They have much better articulation.

only reason for a lift is to clear the tires. try to keep your center of gravity low jeeps are tippy enough as it is. i run 33" with no lift and am going to try 35" no lift with xenon fenders. do tires first then lift to suit. big tires and no lift is better than lift with small looking tires

The 33X12.50R17s will be similar in size to the 285 Bighorns you have on now. Maybe a tad taller depending on the brand. Do the tires rub now? A lift may not even be necessary but 2" should give you plenty of clearance.

Its my DD, but when the whistle blows, im in the woods with it. I really want to lift it, im just afraid it will look funny with my 285s. I have to wait till i wear my current tires out b4 i get the 33x12.50s .I havent been able to find any pictures of a two door with 285s and a lift.

Mine has the OME hd with 285/70/17's. I like that set up for daily drive and offroad, however I dont think the OME will give you the flex your looking for.
