JK never ceases to amaze me with its multiple top configurations!
So, last night I took down the soft top before parking the car in the garage for the night. The weather forecast for the next 3 days was Sunny, Sunny, Sunny, with a 10% chance of rain Fri/Sun and 0% chance for Saturday. I figured I'd get a jumpstart and save my self time this AM...
Well, what do you know, the 10% came to pass and it was raining this AM when I needed to drive to work - 25 miles one way. I would have had to pull the JK out of garage to put the soft top back up easily anyway (ceiling not high enough), in the rain, so I said negative on that idea. Plus I park in a parking garage at work anyway, so once I got there was not a problem...
Unscrewed the front 2 soft top door surrounds and stowed them in the rear, latched/bolted on the front two hard-top freedom panels, and ran "bikini" to work this AM. It was the first time I ever ran it with this configuration and it was pretty awesome. It basically looks topless, but keeps you protected inside!
Heading to Rausch Creek tomorrow and may just leave them on to keep mud out and/or at least take them with and stow them in case of another freak storm. God I love this JK...
(Now I know I'm not the first to ever run this way by any means, I was just excited it's the first time I actually tried it and it was pretty cool how easy it was to just undo those front door surrounds with the handscrews and plop on the freedom panels in total elapsed time of about 3-5 minutes.)
