Default Bigger tires on my X ?? need help Ottawa or montreal

Guys, I am thinking on adding bigger tires on my 2008 X unlimited 4 doors and maybe a lift. I currently have stock tires 17'' with no lift ,however i was wondering if anybody who live in Ottawa or montreal have bigger tires already installed on their jeep wouldn't mind meeting somewhere, i want to see the height, the driving feel, because i can't make a decision. I have seen so many pics but I don't want to buy tires before i see them or drive them on somebody's else jeep

please let me know; i live in ottawa Carling and Preston and i don't mind driving to meet up with you and check the mods out in person
let me know
thx

I put 285/70r17(33") and the only thing i noticed was a little noise going from the stock car tires to bfg's km1's as expected. The ride didn't change but you sound alittle more picky than me

I've got some 285/70R17s ProComp Extreme MTs with a Daystar BB going on the wife's next week. It won't alter how it handles at all but the tires will have a bit of a hum compared to the factory all seasons. Hopefully that helps.

If you haven't done it already, I'd suggest posting this in one of the Canadian Staging areas, whichever you happen to be in...

Weird. I get in this thread because it says Ottawa, then I see somebody from Grande Prairie posting. I just moved back home to Ottawa, from Grande Prairie after having lived there for 3 years. Anyway. Back on topic ...

I don't have larger wheels installed myself (I only plan on going 33" for the time being), but a friend of mine has 40" Mickey Tompsons on his (obviously with a hell of a lift). I think his rig is in the shop at the moment, but I'll see when is the next time he takes it out.

I see a few JKs around town every now and then with some mild lifts and larger rubber. I'll try to wave one down some day and see if we can set up a meet of sorts. I see a red Rubicon quite often in the Orleans area with a Project JK decal on the back. I don't know who he is though. Next time I see him parked at McDonalds I'll drop by, lol.

That being said, how much bigger do you plan on going?

I don't consider myself picky - ok hold on - actually i am but i like to test things out before dishing out $$$$$ - because i would be upset if i didn't like it. i think i might want to do 1 to 2'' lift MAX - so don't know how far i can go with the tires if i do that?
also can't decide on the RIMs - after all this is my baby - and she deserve a good look.

speaking of good looks- somebody keyed my jeep last week when i was in MTL, luckily i have zero deductible with my insurance to the doors are now fixed and look awesome but my heart was shredded in pieces when i saw it scratched " both back doors.

so anybody who i can visit would be great.
