I would use a heavy 3" tie down ratchet strap at four points off of the frame or using chains w/ tighteners. I wouldn't use the winch.

Don't use the winch. Do what Robar said, ratchet straps at all 4 corners.

Absolutly do not tie a vehicle down by the frame!!
That is not the right way at all. Do you ever see a tow truck doing this? NO. Always tie down your axles and let you suspension work. Unless you are going to completely compress your suspension to the point where your vehicle cannot move do not tie down the frame or your straps and chains will come loose. And if by chance you were to wreck the vehicle probably will not stay on the trailer.
Always tie off the axles

I see tow trucks tie off the frame all the time.

Hmmm, after doing some checking on google a lot of places recommend wheel straps which I guess would work the same as tieing down at the axle.

I just came back from the store and got some chains with some lever binders that should be good to wrap around the axles right

yes just make sure break lines are out of the way. also make sure you go diagonally as in driver side axle to passenger side trailer so you make a X on the front and back

I don't know down there but in Canada you have to cross the chains to stop side to side shift as well as front and back
