Default Rear Ended Again

For the second time this year I'm stoked to have lifted my Jeep and put a bad ass steel bumper on the back.

The first time was when a Jaguar backed into my Jeep. Destroyed the backend of the Jaguar and gave me a teeny tiny scratch.

Today on Coast Highway I got rear ended while at a red light by a brand new BMW 5 series going about 35 miles an hour. The front end of the BMW was destroyed and all that happened to me was that my back end got lifted off the ground. Once I realized that a BMW was underneath my rear end, I simply took my foot off the brake and drove off of him and back onto the street.

I got hit from behind by some teenager in his boss' work van doing roughly 50km/h while I was stopped at a red light. The van had to get towed and there was no damage at all to my JK apart from a small bend mark in the plastic stock fender. The tow kit absorbed most of the impact and I had released my foot from the brake when I saw the kid lock up behind me!

If the impact was that high, are you sure the frame didn't get bent underneath? Was your JK lauched forward?

All that energy has to be absorbed somewhere?
