Default OME lift installed, what happened?? WOBBLE WOBBLE

OK
Just got my JK back from the install.
I have an 08 JK UL Rubicon

I had the OME HD lift installed
Front lower control arms
Front bump stops
Extended rear sway bar link
New wheels and tires (BFG AT in 33)
Hanson front mid bumper
Shrockworks rear stubby
Shrockworks slidders

Anyway on my way home about 25 minutes into the drive going about 70 mph on the freeway my Jeep started to shake REAL BAD!! I slowed down and it slowly stopped its shake and then I sped up again and had no problems the rest of my ride home.

My Jeep did this once before pre lift and I took it in they replaced the steering stabilizer (that was at about 26000 miles) and now I have 35000 miles.

Anyone have any clue what it is???

I had my lift done by a well known shop that does quality work.
They said they aligned it and adjusted the castor <sp?>

Sounds like you've got the infamous death wobble. I don't know exactly what causes it but there are a ton of threads on here about it. It happens a lot after a lift and/or usually when someone hits a large pot hole. Did you get adjustable track bars to align your axles?

First thing I'd do is take it right back to the place that installed the lift for you. Have them check your alignment, and re-torque every single bolt that they touched during the install process.

When you pay to have an install done, you are paying for a shop to stand behind their work.l

More than likely your trackbar isn'torqued to spec or your toe is set wrong and or castor.

Since it happened before the lift also, you might check to see if the holes on either end of the trackbar are wallowed out.

Also pull out the alignment sheet they gave you and give us the caster and toe numbers. I'd be willing to bet that they set it back to 'factory' specs instead of something closer to the normal post-lift numbers you'll see here.

They prbably set the castor to stock setting as the alignment machine is programmed to. If they lift alot of jeeps they should know to set it a little higher( 6-8 degrees)

I'm a little confused.....

You said it was an OME lift. From what I've read on here, it's not possible to have any problems after installing an OME or TF lift.(sarcasm)

Ummm are you serious
"does it really look like he has a lift on there?"

Come climb in and tell me...
Heck, come look at it in person and ask that ?

It was the Jeep shop that did the alignment and castor. They do lots of Jeeps (that is really all they do (Jeeperz Creeperz)), they did not give me a print out (nor did I ask for it). Either way I already called them and talked to them right after it happened and I am going to swing by in the next couple days when I can get back into that side of town.

"did you put in front and rear adj track bars?" Nope, when I bought everything even Dave from Northridge said they were not needed... He knows his stuff and I am certain if he thought I would remotely need them (my Jeep spend 95% of its life onroad, 4.5% of fire trails and the other .5 in mud) he surely would have been glad to suggest them and make a sale but I think hes a stand up honest enough of a guy that won't sell you something you do not need. Also I even asked the install shop and they did not think it was needed.

"Since it happened before the lift also, you might check to see if the holes on either end of the trackbar are wallowed out" Good call, I will have to have them check that when I get back out there... How involved is that? Will I have to wait hours for them to get to that and see or is it something a tech can see fairly easily without taking off a ton of stuff?

Thanks!
I appreciate the quality responses....
I will let everyone know what they say.
Either way I am VERY happy with the looks, now just gotta get everything worked out.

Oh yes... What programmer is good and will not cost a fortune? AEV? My speedo is about 5 mph off at 40 mph
