Default Questions for Cooper STT and BFG KM2 Owners

Hey guys,

I have decided on some 16x8 wheels but cannot make a decision on tires . I'm down to the Cooper STT and BFG KM2. I am looking to get 33's for now with either a TF Leveling Kit or a BB. I will be a 90% on and 10% off driver at first but would like to have a good aggressive tread for when I do go offroad and for the looks . I have a few questions for those of you that own those tires:

1. How is the ride on the street/highway?
2. How are they in mud (I'm in Louisiana!)?
3. How have they worn?
4. How loud (in your opinion) are they?

I realize these questions are subjective, but I would still like to hear opinions. Not really looking for which one is best, just your experiences with them.

Thanks in advance.

I have the STT's in a 35x12.5x17. I love them. They have worn even, with minor cupping. They aren't nearly as loud as other mud tires I have run in the past. They do ride a bit stiff, but they are a D rated truck tire. I prefer the looks of the KM2, but I got a pretty good deal on the STT's. Honestly, I can't think of a terrain they haven't performed exceptionally well in. I have just over 8k on mine with minimal wear.

Mud, Sand, Ice, Snow, Rocks: Awesome

My experience is about the same as nukeman , Coopers have performed great off-road, especially in the mud. Mine aren't stiff at all, I run 26-28psi though. They do start getting loud at 20k. I have 30k on mine and they still have 15-20k left. They WILL chunk on rocks, so if you plan on reg trips to Hot Springs, know this. I've been happy with mine, ready to sell them and get 37's.

I have the BFG KM2's

1. How is the ride on the street/highway?

They are excellent on the street and highway almost no difference from stock

2. How are they in mud (I'm in Louisiana!)?

They are good in the mud, much better compared to my old rubicon tires. Even after being in mud i still had grip on rocks!

3. How have they worn?

I only have about 1000 miles on them but as far as I can tell they are wearing evenly

4. How loud (in your opinion) are they?

These are pretty quiet tires for a mud terrain, now realize they are a mud terrain and they do hum a little but not bad at all. They are not that much louder than the rubi tires.

Overall these are awesome tires I would say go for them

Sounds like they are fairly even at this point for the questions I have asked. Hmmm

Love my KM2s

Quiet, love the ride. Quieter than the old KM which I thought was good.

Havent had them in the mud, but are excellent on the rocks and loose stuff.

I have about 7k on them and the wear is excellent. I rotate in my spare to keep them nicer.

I would recomend checking the weight of the tires. I hear the KM2 is lighter than most, which could make a difference on the spare tire carrier and power wise.

X2....quoting is so much faster than retyping the same thing.

My Coopers do just fine on wet roads, and they were pretty damn good in the snow we got this year. Not that we ever get much, but it's good to know if traveling.
