Default Any Opinions on Gear Manufacturers

I'm looking to Upgrade my Gears to 5:13's on the JK then install the 37's and was wondering if any brand was better than the next I would also be getting the Overhaul Kit Package

I have come across Superior/Yukon, Motive, AlloyUSA and Richmond and assume they are the top ones Is there a best one?

The Easiest ones to order with the kit are the
Superior / Yukon JK Gears & Overhaul Kit Package $749.95
Superior / Yukon JK Gears & Install Kit Package $624.95
AlloyUSA Ring & Pinion Gears w/Overhaul Kit Package $662.95

I cant seem to locate the Overhaul kit on the Richmond gears
or a shop that sell Motive in or around Ontario

Thanks
Brian

Thanks

unfortunately, just about all the gears are made by the same manufacturer and then repackaged under the various lables you see. i run superior gears as they were the first to come out with gears and pretty much set the standard for them. they also offer a great warranty.

Thank you, do you know who the Manufacture are?I'm thinking Yukon and Richmond are the main ones.
I believe Richmond does most if not all the Nascar gears but Motive seems to have the most experence with jeeps..

Or does it really matter lol

I was in the same boat as you a month or so ago. After doing research I found that there are three manufacturers that make all gears. I was told that one of the three is the best and that they are the ones that make the Yukon and Superior gears. Price would be the key differentiator between Yukon and Superior. Everything else including warranty is the same. However, during my search for gears I discovered that Northridge4x4 sells white label gears made by the same plant for considerably less. The only difference I've found between Yukon/Superior and the gears sold by Northridge is the label on the box.

Here's the link to the 5.13 overhaul kit on Northridge's site:
http://northridge4x4.com/proddetail....-GEAR-OVERHAUL
Total cost for Front & Rear: $549.95 (they ship for free).

I purchased the 5.13 Overhaul kit from Northridge and have about 300 miles on them so far. They are perfect. Easy to install, quiet, breaking in easy, etc. The drive-ability of the Jeep is much better than stock.
