Default How come I didn't need brake extensions???

I recently put on the Rough Country 2.5" Lift. The one with the spacers and the shock extensions only. I have noticed a lot of people talk about using extensions on their brake lines with even small lifts like mine. How come I didn't need them, and is this going to cause a problem later?

I have the same lift on mine. I don't think you really need brake line extensions unless you go with longer travel shocks. I think, even with the shock extensions, you won't droop enough at full flex to need them. But they are cheap insurance against tearing a line out on the trail. I plan to buy extended lines in the near future, just to be safe.

If you're going to off-road, it's cheap insurance to add a couple brackets from your local hardware store (less than $2) ...

I can gaurantee that you need them. Some lifts are more complete than others. Just because it was not in the kit, doesn't mean you didn't need it. You get flexed out real good and you'll see.

You definately should put some in the rear. I had an RE BB with a 2.5 spacer in the front and a 1 3/4 spacer in the rear. Flexed with stock links in the rear with shocks that extended to 26"damn near ripped the line off, front your ok even disco'd. Unclip some slack from the abs lines too front and rear, or you gonna be stretchin those aswell.
