Default 35's on Stock 08 JK - 4 Door?

Hi,

I have a stock 08 Rubicon. My tires are wearing down and before I go buying the wrong tires I was hoping to get some help. I assume the stock tires are 32's, but this time I wanted to go a little bigger. 33's seem like such a minor jump and I was thinking 35's. I have Google'd this until I just came up with so many conflicting ideas that I have given up trying to solve this on my own. I appologize if this is the most over asked question but here goes.

From what I have read, I can put 35's on stock Rubicon rims. Is this true? And then, is there any way they will fit on my stock Rubicon. From what I understand, the Rubicon already has some lift...how much lift does it have compared to a non-Rubicon? If I end up needing a lift, can I get by with just a body lift of 2" or do I need more.

Thanks for any ideas.

You can but you need to buy at least a 1.5 inch wheel spacers. The only issue is that you may get some crowning on your tire due to the 7 inch rims. You should go with 8 inch rims minimum. You can get them for $40 a piece with 4.5 inch backspacing.

You may or may not get some crowning, that all depends on the tire/psi/etc. and spacers should solve the BS issue. However, if you dont mind the look of cheap steelies, 4 steelies and 4 spacers will run you similar money, so why not go with the new wheel? 2"-2.5" of lift is the least youll want to go to fit 35's

Check out my gallery... I have 35's on stock 17" wheels. You won't get crowning if you do the chalk test to determine the proper air pressure. Mine stay at 26-27psi with NO problems. But you will need at least 2.5" of lift.
