Ragtops Hard on Hearing--What About JK?
A new study reveals that the decibel levels in vehicles with a convertible top down are damaging to hearing. My favorite line (and why I posted this in JK Talk instead of Anything and Everything), is:
"The study suggests that convertible drivers and passengers wear ear plugs -- not exactly in keeping with ragtops' carefree, sexy image -- or keep the windows rolled up."
Windows? Do you have windows? So it's either put the top up or put the doors back on and roll up the windows? I think ear plugs are starting to sound better and better (no pun intended). Anyway, I guess it's okay to drive with the top on, but the doors off--they didn't study that at all.

WHAT? CAN'T HEAR YOU!
I think I might have some hearing loss in my left ear from my YJ soft top days, there is hearing loss, just guessing that could be the cause.
My 09, with hardtop, no way. Ones with soft tops seem a lot quieter than the ones of old. My old one would make a "whip" sound that was very loud due to being loose.

My hearing was doing better but the wife took my JK and I'm back to the YJ until she makes up her mind on what vehicle to get. Luckily she doesn't enjoy the cost of fillin' her up, that and I won't put the HT back on yet.
Should be back with my baby soon.
