Default Custom Lift Kit

Has anybody out there tried taking the best components from several different Mfg. companies and created their own lift kit??? Considering how much we have invested in the basic vehicle we want the best of everything when doing a suspension lift.

I only want a ~2.5 spring lift with a little taller tire and wider stance. Don't want center of gravity problems but need a little more ground clearance.

Was thinking OME springs, shocks with some kinda adjustable control arms, adjustable track bars and on and on.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

You can do that I'm running a Skyjacker lift with JKS Adj. Trackbars and I'm thinking to upgrade my control arms with some TF Adj. Arms

Many of us have done this because not all manufacturers offer a complete lift kit (springs, shocks, track bars, CAs, flip kit, etc). If you run a search on most of the BB or 2.5-3.0" kits, many are also running a 1" puck or a body lift in an effort to customize their lift.

Adding adjustable CAs and track bars to any kit *should* not create any problems.

OME springs, Bilstein 5100 shocks or OME shocks, TeraFlex control arms, TeraFlex Front HD adj track bar, probably TF adj rear track bar, maybe full traction, I think theres is pretty thick, JKS front discos. That would be good. Mix and match!

Funny, its all in how you ask the question. I asked what would be the best lift and i got pretty much shit on with a bunch of stupid questions from about what i do to what i eat. Doesn't matter what you do there still has to be a "best"

That's exactly what the OME Kits are from Northridge. OME shocks and springs, Currie or TF control arms, JKS track bars, etc. This is a great place to start for the lift height you describe - you can add/subtract from the kit depending on how much off road capability you want.

There is.....TERAFLEX!!! Even the ORE coilover kit has to have a base suspension system to work from and they choose the TeraFlex long arm alot of the time.

The TeraFlex long arm kit (at least the 6" version) comes with nearly all of the parts you are asking about. I am running it and wheel it decently hard and haven't had to upgrade things outside the normal 'protection' pieces....though nothing related to the steering, suspension, etc.
