I bought a brand new 5 foot hi-lift last week; bad decision

Too long to be fixed inside on the sport bars

Too long to be fixed ouside on the rear door hinges (more than 1 foot over the top)

Too long to be fixed on the bumbers

JUST TOOOOOOOOO LONG !!!

Default Hi- lift

I believe a hi-lift is a must have tool if you are going off-road at all. Very useful in a variety of situations , you will not regret buying this peice of equipment. It may not get used very often but when you need it there is no substitute. 48" or 60" would depend on your lift and suspension travel , more lift and travel = bigger jack.

48 is all you need we dont have monster trucks... and really we hardly ever use a hi lift on the trail. the stock jack and a off road base gets all of our repairs done and without the hi-lift. Its nice to have those times or two you need it but they are really not nessaccery. So buy a 48 stash it on the roll cage use when you have no other choice.

With your lift and tires, the shorter one will be plenty.

I've had a hi-lift for about 9 years now, and have yet to actually use it. Then again, I have a winch also, and have never had to use it to pull myself out. Several other people have been very glad I have it, though!

For the price, they are great to have just in case.

A hi-lift is just another tool. My mentality is to have as many useful tools with you as you can fit. A hi-lift was one of the first things I bought for the jeep. I've yet to use my hi-lift. I've see other use theirs in conjunction with bottle/scissor jacks. It's like most of my tools, I carry them with me yet I rarely use them, but when I need them, I'll be glad I have it.

I have the 48" and I can fit it well inside the jeep. Soon it will be going on my rear carrier when it arrives. I also got the tire attachment should I ever need to lift my tire to rock stack, etc. BUt in retrospec, I'm more likely to have the guy in front/behind me pull me out before I lift and stack.

I have the 60". Mounts nicely to my tire carrier, and with a 6.5" lift, is much more stable than the 48" was.
