Security
I ordered my Jk 2dr half door soft top a couple weeks ago. I’ve come to terms with the reality that I just can’t leave anything in it I don’t want to find missing, and that my plastic windows would prefer if I left my doors unlocked. However, I’m still debating on an alarm and/or kill switches. Anyone out there say, “Screw it, that’s what insurance is for!” and have thoughts to share?
Thats what insurance is for...(hey-you asked if anyone would say it)
I read in another forum here of a soft top cut into while overnight at a dealership, and they took nothing.
Point is, some people are out there for the fun of it-to cut tops regardless. I myself choose to leave the valuables home.

I got a Tuffy Center Console Insert (steel locking and plush top to boot!) for security when my top is off! They have nice glove box steel lockable item too! Get those two items and you're set! If you wanted you could get a lockable trunk if your going to have larger items in there.
With that stuff in place and locked your good to go!

Mostly it's going to depend on where you park your Jeep. I leave my Jeep unlocked most of the time, and haven't had a problem (yet!). About the only time I lock it with the softtop installed is when we're in a busy parking lot and there's valuable gear in the Jeep--say, parked at a rest stop and all of my camera and camping gear is in the back of the Jeep. No problems, yet. But, as they say, YMMV.
its a funny thing... if you ride with no doors or make it obvious that nothing valuable is in the jeep... you can have valuable things in the jeep and most "smarter" thieves know that most jeeps owners do not keep valuable in a jeep... especiall with no doors or top.
its when they see that nice tuffy console or locked doors that the want to squirrel around. Hell, I keep a GPS in mine and rarely have doors on it. Never any issue thus far. There is literally a piece of paper lying on top of the gps sitting on the passenger seat often time. the best place to hide something is in plain view
