Default 2 door front driveshaft hits muffler crosspiece

What are people doing to stop the front driveshaft from rubbing on the muffler cross pipe? It is limiting the flex in the front.

I had some rub issues from the adj. track arm on the rear hitting the shock but I don't think I have had the drive line come anywhere near the cross pipe. sure nothing is bad undernieth? like a bent pipe or something?

All you can really do is get a thinner diameter shaft which you have already done.

Haven't heard of any issues with the front driveshaft hitting any of the exhaust. Do you mean the crossmember/skid, perhaps? That is a known issue, specifically with auto's. The driveshaft will also contact the corner of the transmission.

If this is the case, and it isn't the exhaust, you can:
-trim the skid/crossmember
-replace the metal band holding the boot with a zip tie
-lower the skid by stacking washers on the bolts
-replace with a narrower aftermarket driveshaft

If this isn't the issue you are having, snap a pic and post it.

is it safe to say you have a 6-speed? we installed a coast driveshaft that used an adapter at the output flange and that pushed the shaft an inch forward. this gave us enough clearnace and prevented the driveshaft from making contact with the crossover.

I have a 6 speed, and it hits the exhaust, not the crossmember. I do have the King coilovers, so I get a lot of flex. I will look into the spacer for the shaft.
