Default Newbie Question regarding tires and suspension

So I'm an obvious newbie, just picked up a 2007 JK with 19k miles on it 2 weeks ago. First mod I want to do is get new tires on the stock rims. I am looking at the Goodyear Duratrac 275/70/r18s, or the 275/65/r18s. Regarding suspension, if I want to run these with the least amount of other mods, what is my best route to go? I've seen some posts on here with people who have done Spacers & disconnects, or leveling kits...but I'm not 100% familiar with the technical aspect of this. Can someone further explain.

It all depends on what you want to do with your Jeep. You can add small body lifts or leveling kits for pretty cheap to give you a little more clearance for larger tires. But if you want more off-road performance, then you need to look at lift kits. If you just want a larger tire for a better look now, then you could just do a body lift or leveling kit, then add a suspension lift later if needed. The 275/65R18 is not a larger tire, it's only 32.1" according to Goodyear - that's stock. The 275/70R18 is a 33.2" according to Goodyear, but only 32.4" according to 4wd.com.

If you get a larger tire with the stock rims, you'll want to get wheel spacers. If you just want the look, you could try the Teraflex leveling kit - it adds 2" to the front and 1" to the back. You could easily clear 33" with that and it's not expensive. I've heard the new Nitto Trail Grapplers are quiet on-road if you wanted to look at those.
