STS Turbo Option
Has anyone run an STS Turbo system on a JK yet? Couldn't find anything in the search option.
My real concern was rear breathing issues? Could you just run a snorkle kit up thru the rear fender well? If anyone has this system, i would love to see some pics.

I don't think anyone has a turbocharged JK yet, but there are plenty of supercharged JKs. RIPPMODS makes one that has gotten great reviews and has good customer service.
I think you would wind up putting too much money into a custom turbo kit.

Rippmods is in my opinion the authority on forced induction...they have done extensive research and development to ensure their product is the most reliable and applicable to the JK....that's why they supercharged
I don't know about all that. I'm sure the Ripp company knows a BUNCH about their particular super charger type. If I had to be pinned down as to who was "The authority" on forced induction.....I'd have to say Gale Banks. Dude's been at it a LONG time. As for turbos on a Jeep in the off road, I ain't sure a turbo is the right thing for that application. They requiure some RPM from the engine to operate. Jeeps need HP down low and right NOW. Not after the engine has a chance to spin up. I think a larger cubic inch engine is the ultimate answer.....HEMI.
authority on forced induction on the JK specifically I meant to say
I totally agree with the application of supercharging for the Jeep, specifically offroading. Any turbo vehicle I have had experience with does take rpm to spool up, and when it does finally 'kick' in...I find it does just that, kicks in...which I'm not sure I'd want happening during a nice finesse situation offroad, a sudden jolt of power...that's just my experience though

Turbo needs RPM to spool and to make power. I think if you're under a situation (jammed up on a rock) and you want to throttle through a little bit, once the turbo spooled to make power, I think you're going to have uncontrollable wheel spin and/or break something.
There was a YJ with a turbo 242 at one run I went on. He got caught up on his spring shackle, gave it some throttle, you can hear the turbo spool high and it just ripped and jet through. He flew a good 20ft. before he even stopped. VERY dangerous.

Now for that larger engine option, I would call Gale to set up the first CRD conversion kit.
