Default Rancho Pro 9000 Install and Review

First I would like to thank Bustabizz for taking such good care of me with getting me these shocks.

So, fronts, walk in the park. Removal and install, no brainer. Even locating the reservoir was a piece of cake. Even gives that nice bling factor when you look in the wheel well.

Rear install, not so much! My lower mounts are beat up so they required some work to get them back to being able to handle the wider inserts that Rancho uses. But, after some cussing and a little bleeding, we were good to go on the bottom.

As I placed the shock up to the upper mount I encountered some resistance, first it was mechanical, then the resistance became emotional. Arrg! The reservoir hose hits the frame hard enough to kink the hose before the shock is even mounted. So much for having the adjusters to the outside. Okay, no problem, I will just spin them 180 and life will be good. NOT!, now the hose hits the sway bar.

So, off to my mill and drill press I go. I made some 1.25" spacers to drop down the sway bar to give the hoses room. Walla! Worked like a charm.

No, the hose is no where near the exhaust, it is a bad pic, sorry. If you should choose to install these, be prepared to play with the rear way more than the front. Adjustments will need to be made so you clear everything while flexing the back end. Just take your time. I would like to see a 90 degree fitting on both front and rear.

Results from testing:
HOLY COW! Nice shocks! My jeep has never ridden so nice. These things are truly wonderful. Hats off to Rancho for making a great product. Adjust-ability is a breeze, although the rears are harder to get to.

I would do these again in a heart beat!
