Default Balancing 35" MTR w.kevlar

Anyone else running these tires please comment on how much weight it took to balance the tires. I had mine done today and all the tires took around 4 ounces to balance. does this sound right?

I get the strip weights that are taped to the inside of the wheel, not the bead edge. Don't care much, it works, that is all.

It took quite a bit of weight to balance mine on stock Moab wheels. Not sure how much, but weights on both sides of the wheel.

I just had my 33's mounted on stock wheels.

It took from 4oz to 7 oz to balance the tires..That weight is the combined weight front and back.. Had I mounted these myself I may have spun the tires 180 on the rims just to see if the weight would come down.

With 35's and steel wheels the weight could get up to 10oz combined..
If it takes this much weight, spin the tires 180 degrees on the wheel and try again.

I like doing the static balancing also with the weight taped in the center of the wheel...With 15" wheels you might bet a rub on the caliper.

If yours only took 4 oz combined...You done good.

Mine took quite a bit of weight, they were not easy to balance. Had to go back, to get them rebalance.

Last week I put a set of 32x11.5x15s on a customers tj and I got 4 of them to balance under 3 ounces ( I had to spin 2 of them on the rim a few times), but the 5th one took 6 ounces no matter where I moved the tire on the wheel, I put it as the spare.

Many places do not force match tires without asking/paying more. It can reduce the amount of weight, it does take time..time is of course money.

With 15s and taped weight, no rubbing on calipers. He wanted to stack the weights, but then it rubbed. Rotated 180*, good to go.

8 oz of internal balancing per tire. for 3 reasons
1 no lead in the environment for tree huggers to bitch about when we throw a weight on the trail
2 when aired down eventually you will spin a wheel inside the tire unbalancing it. internals will automaticall re-balance
3 looks better.. no weights on the inside, outside of rim. Or stacking issues rubbing on calipers for the 15inch guys
