Default Comment on Cooper DISCOVERER STT LT tire good or bad

Is anyone running the Cooper DISCOVERER STT LT tire. I want to get 285-70-17 size tire and this looks like a good tire at a good price.

So comments would be appreciated.

Thx

They are a great tire. Cooper is an american company, tires are made here in the USA. They wear better than many mud tires. The compound is a bit harder than some, so they may not have as good a traction as say, a MTR w/ Kevlar. But they are also in a different price range.

If you are looking for a good mud tire for a daily driver, I say go for em!

I've never tried them but have seen many many threads about them... everybody seems to love them.

What's the LT? I had 35 stt's mud terrain though. Great tire in all climates, great ride, chunks on rocks. That's why I went toyo this time, not as rock chunky.

I'm not much of a fan of Cooper's. Had a set of H/T's on my GMC 1500 that took over a pound of lead to get in balance, and they only lasted about 20K miles. I replaced them with Bridgestone Duellers and these only took 1/2 oz to balance, and have 3/4 tread left after 25K miles!

LT I think means Light Truck so its not a P metric car tire.

Thinking of getting these myself. I like the tire design and they are at a good price!

Absolutely no issues with these tires. Great quality, Excellent wearing, quiet on pavement for an M/T and great price to boot!

AlSO:

Great in the Mud

Great on the rocks

Great in the snow!

The only drawback I see is they are not as good of a sidewall as the Toyo M/T's but are much lighter tire than the Toyo's!
