Default Rear Tire Carrier

I would like to have a tire carrier that opens with the stock tail gate. Is this possible. Who make one and pictures.

Check out Expedition One's tire carrier. They're a little pricey but they're designed to open with the gate. I'm saving for one myself.

It's really no big deal to open the tire carrier first than open the gate. imho mot worth the extra money.

The Or-Fab carrier hinges seperately outside of the tailgate.
It is not bumper mounted, but still you first swing out the tire carrier, then open the tailgate door. I think that's what he's trying to avoid.

I'm beefing up the tailgate with the MBRP kit, then mounting a smittybilt oversized tire carrier for $100. We'll see how it turns out. It'll all be on the tailgate though. I had a swing out bumper tire carrier before, and I didn't like opening two things to get into the back of my Jeep. Plus it rattled at times and what not.

The whole idea when carrying an oversize spare tire is to take the weight of the tire off of the tailgate. That's why most aftermarket tire carriers attach to the bumper or somewhere other than the tailgate (Or-Fab). You can brace the spare tire mounting points but I think this is just a quick fix and sooner or later you will get damage to the tailgate sheet metal.

he just wants it to open when he opens the tailgate, he is not suggesting it hang from the tailgate.

Just saying, it would have to attach to the tailgate somehow and I don't think there is a design that would accommodate this. My Or-Fab opens with the tailgate but you have to unlatch it first. It's very easy and convenient.
